FLY53 NME Radar Tour Line Up

FLY53 NME Radar Tour 2009 will showcase the best in new music, as Golden Silvers, Marina & the Diamonds, Local Natives and Yes Giantess play live across the UK in September and October.

Golden Silvers

Golden Silvers

La Roux, Crystal Castles, Maximo Park, erm Boy Kill Boys the Radar Tour headline slot is (usually always) a very big pair of shoes to fill. Luckily, then, that Golden Silvers more than have the goods to step up to the plate. Winners of Glastonbury Festival 2008's New Talent competition, they've already released an NME 8/10 album ('True Romance'), and will wow us all with a barrage of singalong psych-pop anthems.

Marina & The Diamonds

Marina Diamond (her real name, how cool is that?) met the Diamonds in 2008. They're considered to be her fans rather than her backing group, which is understandable once you've seen the pint-sized starlet and grabbed a cochlea-full of her twinkling glitter pop. At once dramatic and familiar, it's already seen her win over everyone she touches, from NME Radio to half of Glastonbury festival.

Local Natives

Local Natives

The best thing to come out of LA since - well, for a very long time, these Silver Lake natives purvey a beautifully captivating woodland folk. They've earned more than a few comparisons to Fleet Foxes, but while they're upholding the plaid shirts the beard count is significantly lower, and theirs is a more modern affair. We can't wait to see them live.

Yes Giantess

Opening up the shows will be indie-pop pin-ups Yes Giantess. Although when we say indie pop, we're of course referring to the credible Boy Crisis/Passion Pit East Coast school of indie pop. You know, those bands that combine annoyingly great looks with a knack for a tune that Frankmusik would give his Hoxton fin for. A short tour of the US with Little Boots ahead of our dates will get them limbered up to maximum gig capacity
