Thousands of music fans attended the state funeral of Macedonian music star Tose Proeski yesterday (October 18), after the singer died in a car crash last Tuesday (October 9), aged 26.
Proeski, who was given a traditional gun salute as part of the funeral service, represented Macedonia in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest and was popular across Eastern Europe.
Proeski began his singing career aged 15, and had several hit singles in various Eastern European countries.
The last concert he played, on October 5 in Skopje, was attended by 30,000 fans.
