1990s preview new album tracks online

1990s have uploaded two new songs to their MySpace page.

Singer and guitarist Jackie McKeown also posted a blog on the site saying the Scottish band were on the verge of completing their new album, the follow up to 2007's 'Cookies'.

"In a week's time we're back down in London to record the final three songs for our album," he wrote. "One's called 'Kickstrasse' and there might be one called 'Sparks' and another is 'sans title' but it's got a hillbilly giddy-up vibe you might like. I'm excited to say the least."

McKeown revealed that the new album is likely to be released in February or March 2009.

Speaking of new songs 'The Box' and 'Vondelpark', which you can listen to on 1990s' MySpace now, McKeown wrote: "This evening I managed to put up a coupla demos we did earlier in the year. Don't really wanna spoil the surprise of the new album but we've been playing 'Vondelpark' and 'The Box' for aeons now so might as well put up a version of them.

"They were recorded at ARC practice rooms just south of the river in Glasgow, then vocals and mixing were completed in my bedroom in Pollokshields. I'm not very good at technical stuff. All the needles end up in [the] red. But the recordings have charm and I hope you like 'em."

McKeown added that he was planning to upload more material soon, as well as "poems and nude photos and recipes".
