GOOD CHARLOTTE!

Fans go mad for The Ordinary Boys, The Zutons and the 22-20s...

The NME BRITPACK tour 2004 rolled into the Midlands last night (March 18) with a packed out show at the LEICESTER CHARLOTTE.

Though only the second night of the tour, the intense Charlotte atmosphere reached an early peak with the arrival of The Ordinary Boys who played a brief but energetic 25- minute set.

The Zutons followed and received an overwhelmingly positive reaction with many of the crowd shouting the band’s name as a football-chant between songs.

After a delay of nearly an hour due to technical problems, headliners the 22-20s finally took the stage and immediately encountered more faults. During their second song, singer Martin Trimble’s microphone shorted-out and the band were left to continue by playing an elongated instrumental jam.

Even after the microphone was replaced, their set was dogged by yet more sound glitches but the trio managed to soldier on, finishing their set with a ferocious version of ‘The Devil In Me’ and their usual finale- a cover of Muddy Waters’ ‘King Bee’.
