Frotman covers both The White Stripes and Daniel Johnston in London

Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell played a brief solo set tonight (April 10) at Sony Walkman’s ‘Spring Fling’ event in east London.

During the four song set Borrell played cover versions of songs by both The White Stripes and Daniel Johnson, plus two Razorlight songs.

Taking the stage at 10:25pm (BST) Borrell, playing electric guitar and backed up by solo artist SoKo playing drums, opened his set with renditions of ’Before I Fall To Pieces’ and ’Golden Touch’.

The singer/guitarist then performed a cover of ’Hotel Yorba’ by The White Stripes, then ’Lousy Weekend’ by Daniel Johnston. SoKo joined Borrell for vocals on both songs.

After performing the latter song the Razorlight man left the stage and thanked the crowd for their applause.

Among the guests at the party were Fred Les of Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man, Ross Millard of The Futureheads, members of The Horrors, actor Danny Dyer, ’Skins’ star Nicholas Hoult, Kid Harpoon and socialite/DJ Jodie Harsh.
