Group play new songs on the Pyramid Stage

The Gossip's Beth Ditto accused Jay-Z of being "guilty" this afternoon (June 27), as they performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.

However, the outspoken singer wasn't blaming the rapper for poor ticket sales at the festival, she was praising him.

"I'm so jealous of you, camping to see Jay-Z," Ditto said shortly into the set. "Seriously, I'm so fucking jealous. Jay-Z: guilty of making this festival good!"

Ditto went on to lead her band through a set that included a slew of new songs. She also sang 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana a capella during the set.

The singer was on typically boisterous form, diving into the crowd to mingle with fans halfway through the set.

Five songs in she even had a dance with a security guard, who wasn't keen on the singer getting too close to fans. Ditto responded to the guard's cold response by thrusting her microphone into his face, although the guard still refused to join in the fun.

She then turned the fun on herself, pointed out that she was wearing "the biggest camel toe in Glastonbury".

The singer also found time to pay tribute to The Long Blondes, who had to cancel their Glastonbury show after band member Dorian Cox was taken ill.

"We wish you all the best," Ditto said, referring to The Long Blondes man.

Later on Ditto slammed Led Zeppelin, telling the crowd: "Who gives a shit about Led Zeppelin? I don't care, I said it!"

The final moment of controversy came when Ditto proposed to the security guard from earlier as the set ended.

With the frontwoman down on one knee, the guard again refused to play along.

"There goes my duel citizenship," sighed the singer.

The hour-long set reached a climax with a raucous rendition of their massive hit 'Standing In The Way Of Control', prompting a huge sing-along in the crowd.

The Gossip played:

'Listen Up'
'Top Of The World'
'Eighth Wonder'
'Fire Sign'
'Coal For Diamonds'
'Jealous Girls'
'From The Mould'
'Her Mangled Heart'
'Heavy Cross'
'Love Long Distance'
'Standing In The Way Of Control'

Beth Ditto....what a legend. No other woman with her figure would climb into an audience like that. She's amazing and the Gossip have tunes. Amazing!
