Tales From Planet Rock: 50 Cent to quit music next week

Kanye West is beating his sales so will the rapper keep his word?
50 Cent looks set to quit performing next week (September 16), if he keeps to his word in his fued with Kanye West.
Both rappers release albums on the same day (September 11) in the US - 50 Cent's 'Curtis' and West's 'Graduation' -and "Fiddy" has stepped up the pair's feud, threatening to quit if he comes second.
He told Rolling Stone: "Let's raise the stakes. If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer perform music.
"I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out any more solo albums."
So it looks like we might not see any more of 50 Cent with Amazon reporting today (September 5) that West is out-selling him five to one in pre-orders.
However neither look likely to claim the US Number One, with speculation that country artist Kenny Chesney could outsell them both with his album ’ Just Who I Am : Pirates And Poets’ which is also released on the same day.
Roy Trakin editor of music trade magazine ’Hits’ said : “Chesney has a good shot…rap sales are off significantly in the last year. And country is one of the few genres that’s still selling significant physical product.”
