Will 50 Cent retire after tomorrow's chart showdown?
Kanye West looks to have won the rappers' sales feud
50 Cent may retire from music tomorrow (September 18), after looking likely to lose a chart showdown with Kanye West.
Sales figures suggest that when the US album chart is announced West's new album 'Graduation' will debut at Number One, having sold 800,000-900,000 copies in its first week.
This is in stark contrast to the predicted performance of 50 Cent's album 'Curtis', which is currently estimated to clock up only 600,000 sales.
50 Cent previously declared he would retire from music should his record be beaten to the top spot by his rival, stating: "Let's raise the stakes. If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer write music. I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out any more solo albums."
