Rapper is talking to police about ex's house fire

50 Cent is fully co-operating with officials in New York state in the inquiry into a fire at the home of his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins.

Reports earlier this week suggested that 50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, was avoiding scheduling talks with authorities about the fire, which gutted Tompkins’ home in May of this year. The house was bought by 50.

However, reps for the rapper told perezhilton.com said:

"50 and his attorneys met yesterday (Wednesday) with Suffolk County authorities regarding the fire that destroyed 50's house. The meeting had been arranged weeks ago. 50 is eager to review the findings of the investigation, when it is concluded."

An investigation was launched after the fire was deemed suspected arson, with Tompkins accusing 50 Cent of burning her out of the plush Long Island house, where she lived with the pair’s son Marquis.

50 Cent was recently crowned Forbes Hip Hop Cash King, having raked in over $150 million this year. The rapper topped the list way ahead of his nearest rival, Jay-Z, who earned $82 million.
