They’ll play just four songs each night

Mates Of State announce unique tour

Mates Of State have announced details of a unique tour of the US in conjunction with the National Public Radio programme ’This American Life’, a radio show that airs “stories that are like movies for radio”.

Husband and wife duo Jason Hammel and Kori Gardner will perform four songs each night, among appearances by the programme’s host Ira Glass[b/] and other performers/speakers including [b]Sarah Vowell, Dan Savage and Alexa Junge.

The tour kicks off on February 26 at New York’s Lincoln Center, and Mates of State’s last performance on the tour will be on March 7 in Seattle. The duo have two additional shows of their own in March and April.

They will play:

New York, NY Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center (February 26)
Boston, MA Opera House (27)
Minneapolis, MN Orpheum Theatre (28)
Chicago, IL Chicago Theatre (March 1)
Seattle, WA Paramount Theatre (March 7)
Dallas, TX Ellum: Onstage Festival (12)
Westport, CT Green Earth Fair (April 28)
