Redfest 2008 is cancelled
Promoters claim poor ticket sales as reason for cancellation
The promoters of new Surrey-based festival, Redfest 2008, have cancelled this year's event.
The first ever Redfest, which was scheduled to take place July 4 to 5, would have featured sets from The Maccabees, Lightspeed Champion and Does It Offend You Yeah?.
Late Of The Pier, Elliot Minor and Fear Of Music were all due to play at the 5,000 capacity event too.
A statement on the festival's website said: "Due to the very disappointing tickets sales we have had no choice but to call the festival off. We are truly sorry to those of you who have bought tickets and thank you all for your support. Please contact your ticket agent who will arrange a refund."
