Jon 'The Rev' McClure to take on UK cabinet minister at Latitude Reverend And The Makers Tickets

He's bringing his Instigate Debate campaign to the festival

Reverend And The Makers' frontman Jon 'The Rev' McClure is to take part in an Instigate Debate speed debate with the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Ben Bradshaw MP at Latitude festival this weekend (July 18).

The outspoken singer will appear on the panel for the debate, joined by Bradshaw, journalist and playwright Johann Hari and glamour model Peta Todd.

The foursome will discuss whether the new wave of tabloid and freesheet domination is good for Britain, and also field questions from the audience when they take to the stage at the festival's Literary Tent at 1pm this Saturday.

The best questions will see audience members win Flip Video cameras.

Latitude takes place from July 16-19. Thom Yorke, Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones and Spiritualized are all set to perform at the festival.

Leave The Rev alone, his just trying to put his views out their, which I think can only be a good thing, not just because he talks a lot of sense, but because we need someone in the public eye to speak out, and hopefully people will get more interested in politics as a result. And in terms of his music, its great, especially his lyrics, and im not suprised its an oasis fan slagging him off; if it don't involve the '3 S's' you all knock it, Swagger, Swearing and STELLA!!ha. And also I was at Wembley on thursday, but im not a narrow minded person like the majority there, who didn't even turn up for the first 2 bands on!!!
