Lemonheads' Evan Dando sues General Motors over advert
Star says company used cover of 'It's A Shame About Ray' without permission
Evan Dando has started legal action against General Motors, after the car manufacturer allegedly used an unauthorised cover version of The Lemonheads' 1992 song 'It's A Shame About Ray' in a television advert in 2008.
The singer began proceedings at Los Angeles Federal Court, reports BBC News. He is seeking unspecified damages and a portion of the profits from General Motors' 2008 advertising campaign for Chevrolet and Buick cars.
General Motors, alongside music licensing company Asche And Spencer, have yet to comment on Dando's claim.
