A$AP Rocky unveils album artwork and confirms new release date

Rapper’s LP 'LONGLIVEA$AP' set for January release

A$AP Rocky unveils album artwork and confirms new release date

A$AP Rocky has unveiled the artwork for his forthcoming new album 'LONGLIVEA$AP' – and has also announced a new release date for the LP.

The rapper shared the artwork, pictured above, on his Twitter account last night (December 3) and, according to Pitchfork, has confirmed that the record will be released on January 15 next year.

The New York hip-hop star was originally due to release 'LongLiveA$AP', which will be his debut album proper, in September of this year but rescheduled the release date to October 31. He then subsequently shelved the release until 2013 after revealing that the mastering of the record is taking longer than expected, due to his refusal to back down over clearing any of the samples used on the LP.

Explaining the delay, Rocky said: "The issue with my album is I got things on it that’s so out of this world that it’s taking so long to get mastered. That’s the issue, and I refuse to take anything off. It’s complete, everything is being mastered and cleared right now. Its just so hard to get things cleared, because you got to find people to clear samples. It takes a long time and that’s why it keeps getting pushed back from Halloween to September 11. I want to say it’s looking like top of the year, first quarter because it makes no sense to put out a album in December.”

The album, which is likely to feature the track 'Goldie', is also rumoured to include collaborations with Santigold and Pharrell Williams, as well as his 'Ridin'' – his collaboration with Lana Del Rey that was pulled from the KickDrums' recent mixtape.
