A$AP Rocky calls new album 'best fucking record ever'

Rapper confident ahead of release of 'LongLiveA$AP'

A$AP Rocky has said that his new album is "the best fucking record ever".

The US rapper, who releases debut album proper 'LongLiveA$AP' in January 2013, has recruited a long list of big name collaborators for the album, including Skrillex, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Florence Welch.

Discussing his New Year's resolutions with NME, Rocky said: "Just to put out the best fucking record ever. I think I've done that so maybe I need another one. I like creative control. I'm passionate about shit, y'know. I like it to be just how I want it."

Meanwhile, talking about his musical preferences, Rocky added: "I have this really eclectic taste. I was always into Motown, The Beatles, Nirvana, all that shit. I like anything with soul - them soul organs. I'm not like a pop fiend or whatever.

The New York hip-hop star was originally due to release 'LongLiveA$AP' in September of this year but rescheduled the release date to October 31. He then subsequently shelved the release until 2013 after revealing that the mastering of the record was taking longer than expected, due to his refusal to back down over clearing any of the samples used on the LP.

Explaining the delay, Rocky said: "The issue with my album is I got things on it that’s so out of this world that it's taking so long to get mastered. That’s the issue, and I refuse to take anything off. It's complete, everything is being mastered and cleared right now. Its just so hard to get things cleared, because you got to find people to clear samples."
