A$AP Rocky is being sued for assault by a man who says he beat him up in a clothing store in June this year (2012).

According to TMZ, the victim, Shenick Alcine, claims he saw the Harlem-based rapper take an unnamed illegal drug in the New York store before he was attacked by him. Rocky then turned his anger on two amateur photographers who were filming the incident.

Earlier this month, the rapper pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted grand larceny for the attack on the two amateur photographers. A$AP – real name Rakim Mayers – was also charged with attempted robbery in the second degree and assault, however, these two charges were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea.

Rocky was sentenced to three days community service and was ordered to pay a $250 fine.

Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky has said that his new album is "the best fucking record ever". Discussing his New Year's resolutions with NME, Rocky said: "Just to put out the best fucking record ever. I think I've done that so maybe I need another one. I like creative control. I'm passionate about shit, y'know. I like it to be just how I want it."

The US rapper, who releases debut album proper 'LongLiveA$AP' in January 2013, has recruited a long list of big name collaborators for the album, including Skrillex, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Florence Welch.
