Abba: 'We'll never play music together again'

Swedish band say there is no chance of a reunion

Abba: 'We'll never play music together again'

Two members of ABBA have said that there is no chance the Swedish pop legends will ever play music together again.

Both Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson quashed any hint of a musical reunion, despite the four band members getting together this weekend (July 5) at the Swedish premiere of 'Mamma Mia', the film featuring 22 of their songs.

ABBA have not performed live in public since 1986.

"[There is] simply no motivation to regroup," Ulvaeus told the Sunday Telegraph. "We would like people to remember us as we were, young, exuberant and full of ambition."

Andersson added: "You know what pop music is. It is there for the time it actually happens. We were absolutely dead sure it would be the same for us."
