ABBA, The Stooges beat Red Hot Chili Peppers to Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
Jimmy Cliff and David Geffen also due to be honoured
The Stooges, Genesis, ABBA, Jimmy Cliff and The Hollies are to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next year.
The acts will be inducted in the 25th Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony, taking place at New York's Waldorf Astoria on March 15.
Record executive David Geffen and songwriters including Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Ellie Greenwich & Jeff Barry, Jesse Stone, Mort Shuman and Otis Blackwell are also due to be honoured at the show, reports Billboard.
The acts have been chosen ahead of the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, LL Cool J and Kiss, all of whom were also nominated in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame shortlist when it was announced in September.
It is currently unconfirmed which – if any – of the acts will perform at the ceremony.
