Adam Green new album in the works

The Moldy Peach also pays tribute to James Brown

Adam Green new album in the works

Former Moldy Peaches man Adam Green has started work on his new album - and has already completed seven songs in the space of a week.

The follow-up to 2006’s ‘Jacket Full Of Danger’ is expected later this year.

Green sent out a message via Myspace, in which he also described visiting the body of James Brown as it lay in state at the Harlem Apollo last month.

He said: “I was thinking about it so much that I went to visit his body at the Apollo Theater. The wait on the line was five hours... But time passed quickly as everyone was very chill. They had his body laid out on the stage and Reverend Al was standing next to the casket, which was sort of distracting. I said some words to his body.”

He went on to talk about Brown’s music, saying: ‘I can't recommend him enough... His ‘Live At The Apollo’ album from 1962 is absolutely the greatest In his lifetime he was blessed with boundless energy and a throat of titanium which allowed him to shred his voice night after night.

“His moniker as the hardest working man in showbusiness is certainly deserved and he has been an inspiration to me since I started playing with the Moldy Peaches.”

As previously reported here, Adam Green will play a free show at New York’s Sidewalk Café on February 18.
