Adele pulls out of Mercury Music Prize performance
Bronchitis forces soul singer to cancel performance, but she will still attend
Adele has pulled out of her planned performance at the Mercury Music Prize this evening (September 6).
The UK soul superstar had been due to appear at the ceremony alongside all the other 11 nominees for the Album Of The Year prize. It would have been the first time in the award ceremony's history it had managed to get all nominees to play.
However, the bronchitis which led to her cancelling two UK dates last week has apparently claimed another performance. Music Week News tweeted earlier today that XL Recordings boss Ben Beardsworth has confirmed the cancellation.
However, organisers have told NME that the singer will still be attending the ceremony at London's Grosvenor House Hotel, alongside her fellow nominees. Adele is nominated for the £20,000 award for her record-breaking second album '21'.
Stay tuned to NME.COM for updates throughout the evening, and come back shortly after 10.15pm for the announcement of the winner.
