Adele to premiere new Bond theme 'Skyfall'

'21' singer recorded the soundtrack to the latest 007 adventure at Abbey Road studios in London

Adele will premiere her theme song to the new James Bond film this week (October 5).

The singer's new track 'Skyfall' will soundtrack the 23rd Bond film of the same name and will be unveiled on her website on October 5 at 0:07 – the date marks the 50th anniversary of the first film in the franchise, Dr No.

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, the track was co-written and produced by Paul Epworth (who worked with the singer on her 2011 album '21') and features a 77-piece orchestra.

"I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall," Adele said in a statement. "There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end."

She added: " It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I've never done, which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I'm sure!"

Skyfall opens in the UK on October 26. You can watch the trailer for the film below.
