Adele has won an Oscar for her Bond theme 'Skyfall'.

Taking to the stage to collect her award for best original song with co-writer Paul Epworth, the singer became teary-eyed and choked with emotion. However, she still managed to get a few words out, saying: "Thank you so much, this is amazing. I'd just like to thank [Skyfall producers] Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson at Eon, Sony Pictures, MGM and Paul Epworth... And my man, I love you, baby!"

'Skyfall' is the first ever Bond theme to win the Oscar for Best Original Song, although several past themes have been nominated. Adele and Epworth have already collected a Golden Globe for the track, which was also named Best British Single at last week's Brit Awards.

Earlier in the evening, Adele had taken to the stage to sing 'Skyfall' backed by a choir and a full orchestra. Scroll down and click 'play' to watch her performance. Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand and Norah Jones also sang live during the ceremony at LA's Dolby Theatre.

Other winners at last night's Oscars, hosted by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, included Daniel Day-Lewis, who became the first man to win the Best Actor prize three times after picking up this year's statuette for his performance in Lincoln. Jennifer Lawrence won the Best Actress award for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook, while Ben Affleck's political thriller Argo was named Best Film.

Anne Hathaway and Christoph Waltz also collected acting awards for their supporting roles in Les Misérables and Django Unchained respectively, while Ang Lee was named Best Director for Life Of Pi. Meanwhile, Quentin Tarantino won the second Oscar of his career, picking up the Best Original Screenplay prize for Django Unchained.
