Adele has joked that she will try and win an Emmy and a Tony after collecting her first Academy Award last night.

The singer won the award for Best Song for the Bond theme 'Skyfall' and joked with reporters backstage that she will now chase the elusive EGOT, a clean sweep of an artist or performer winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award during their career. "Maybe I'll do an HBO special like Beyoncé did," she told Billboard backstage at the Dolby Theatre. "And a Tony, I'm not so sure. Maybe someday I'll do a musical."

Adele also spoke about her working relationship with producer Paul Epworth, saying: "Sometimes it just happens great like it does with us," she said of collaborations. "You just got to connect and hope for the best. Be really honest with whoever you are working with. I cried the first time when I talked to Paul about my ex and then 'Rolling In The Deep' happened."

Taking to the stage to collect her award for best original song with co-writer Paul Epworth, the singer became teary-eyed and choked with emotion. However, she still managed to get a few words out, saying: "Thank you so much, this is amazing. I'd just like to thank [Skyfall producers] Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson at Eon, Sony Pictures, MGM and Paul Epworth... And my man, I love you, baby!"

'Skyfall' is the first ever Bond theme to win the Oscar for Best Original Song, although several past themes have been nominated. Adele and Epworth have already collected a Golden Globe for the track, which was also named Best British Single at last week's Brit Awards.

Liza Minelli, Whoopi Goldberg and Barbra Streisand are among the more high-profile actors to pick up the EGOT during their career.
