The first glimpse of Adele's Madame Tussauds waxwork has been revealed.

Sculptors are currently working on the effigy of the singer, which will go on display in London and Amsterdam this July. Adele joins the likes of The Queen, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson as one of the many musicians, film stars and world leaders to be turned into a waxwork. Nicole Fenner at Madame Tussauds said: "She's one of the world's hottest properties right now and one of our most requested personalities. We've seen a huge increase in requests for her figure since 'Skyfall' was released."

According to tabloid reports, Adele is to release the follow-up to 2011's '21' mid-2014. The Oscar-winning singer has supposedly started recording new material for her third album with Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and Kid Harpoon, who has previously worked with Florence & The Machine and Jessie Ware.

An unnamed source told The Mirror: "Adele is currently in a recording studio in London and it’s in lockdown mode for the next few weeks. Four tracks are finished in terms of writing and she’s now laying down preliminary vocals with backing music and singers. The rest of the record will be done in LA. The feel is very much Adele going back to her roots, with some modern jazz and a couple of classic old songs."
