Aerosmith guitarist will return next month

Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford is set to rejoin the band in tour next month after taking some time off to recover from a head injury.

Whitford suffered internal bleeding after knocking his head while getting out of his car around two weeks ago, a week before their tour was due to begin.

Joe Perry told Reuters that Whitford will return next month after recuperating from his surgery.

"It built up pressure and gave him this whoopin' headache," Perry said. "He's not prone to getting migraines, so knew something was wrong. He went right in, they did what they had to do, and now he's getting better."

Whitford is due to return on July 7 for a show in Raleigh, NC.

Bobby Schneck, who has worked with bands such as Green Day and Weezer, will continue to fill in for him until his return.
