Aerosmith's Steven Tyler checks into rehab
The singer also quashes rumours he's leaving the group
Aerosmith's Steven Tyler has checked into rehab for treatment for an addiction to pain killers.
The singer who previously did a stint in rehab last year, has been struggling with pain management for a long time.
"With the help of my family and team of medical professionals I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain," Tyler told Rolling Stone. "I am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates." He added.
The news comes after last month, Aerosmith's Brad Whitford revealed the frontman may have 'drug abuse going on'.
Earlier in the year Aerosmith were forced to cancel their summer tour after Tyler fell onstage.
Despite the news of Tyler's admission to rehab, the frontman also quashed rumours that he was leaving the group.
"I wish to set the record straight and say that I have read reports of a rumoured two-year hiatus and want to be clear that this is completely false." he explained. "I will enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled."
