THANK YOU, KEVIN SMITH

Midweeks put him ahead of Kylie and Britney...

THANK YOU, KEVIN SMITH

AFROMAN is on course for this week's Number One single following the publication of midweek sales figures.

His track, 'Because I Got High', is currently ahead of Kylie Minogue's all-conquering 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head', which has been at the top of the charts for four weeks.

A chart expert at Virgin Megastore in London told NME.COM that she expected the track to remain at the top for the rest of the week.

She commented: "It's ahead of Kylie by quite a long way already, so it's looking good for Afroman."

Afroman is thought to have sold in the region of 23,000 copies, while Kylie has sold 14,000.

Other new releases expected to break into the Top Ten this week include Britney Spears, who is currently at Number Three with 'I'm A Slave 4 U', and Mis-Teeq's 'One Night Stand', which is currently at Number Six.
