The song is one of ten since the turn of the millennium to pass the million mark

Alexandra Burke's 'Hallelujah' joins 'million-selling' singles list

Alexandra Burke's recent Number One cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' has become one of ten singles to sell over a million copies since the turn of the millennium in the UK.

Burke, the winner of this 2008's 'The X Factor', joins the likes of Bob The Builder, Shaggy and Hear'say on the exclusive list of post-millennium million-sellers.

The ten songs to have sold over a million copies, according to the Official Charts Company, are:

Gareth Gates – 'Unchained Melody'
Tony Christie featuring Peter Kay – '(Is This The Way To) Amarillo'
Shaggy featuring Rikrok – 'It Wasn't Me'
Band Aid 20 – 'Do They Know It's Christmas'
Kylie Minogue – 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'
Shayne Ward – 'That's My Goal'
Hear'say – 'Pure And Simple'
Alexandra Burke – 'Hallelujah'
Bob The Builder – 'Can We Fix It?'
Will Young – 'Evergreen'/'Anything Is Possible'
