Alfie in coach crash horror

Alfie narrowly escaped tragedy when the band’s coach was involved in a serious road accident.

The group were travelling to Glasgow following their show at Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms (September 2), when the incident occurred.

According to a statement from a source close to the band, the coach collided with a car that had previously been involved in an accident and had been left unattended with no lights on in the middle of the carriageway.

The statement read: “The car driver was not in the car at the time. The band were all asleep in their bunks and were clearly awoken as a result of this incident. Fortunately the driver managed to control the coach and bring it to a standstill without any major injuries being sustained.”

Alfie’s coach was written off and the driver attended hospital for back pains.

Another coach was soon despatched and the band continued their journey to Glasgow for their gig at King Tut’s (September 3).

Alfie continue their UK tour tonight Derby’s Victoria Inn (September 5).
