Alice In Chains' new album gets release date

Alice In Chains have signed a worldwide record deal with Virgin Records and will release their first studio album in 10 years this September.

The band started recording the album with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters) in October 2008 at Henson Studios in Hollywood.

Guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez reunited in 2005 at a benefit for victims of the tsunami in Indonesia. A year later the band toured with guitarist and vocalist William DuVall.

The band recently performed at the Rock On The Range festival in Columbus, OH and on July 18 will perform with Kid Rock at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI.

Original frontman Layne Staley died of a drug overdose in 2002.
