Alicia Keys honoured at first MTV Africa Music Awards
The James Bond singer picks up Best R&B Act gong
Alicia Keys has been honoured at the first ever MTV Africa Music Awards.
The singer won Best R&B Act at The Velodrome in Abuja, Nigeria at the weekend.
Kelly Rowland also teamed up for a duet with Nigerian singer D'Banj, who took home three MAMA Golden Microphones, including Best Male. The Game later performed on the night.
Late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti was also honoured with the inaugural MAMA Legend Award, which was accepted by
his youngest son Seun Anikulapo Kuti. He later performed seminal track 'Army Arrangement' with Fela's former band Egypt 80.
