SWELL, MEL!

NME.COM gets a sneak preview of 'Dog Eat Dog' - and sees the fomer All Saint in top form...

SWELL, MEL!

Former ALL SAINTS
star MELANIE BLATT plays a gum-chewing tart in her new flick 'DOG EAT DOG' - and NME.COM had an exclusive preview of her latest acting endeavour last night (November 14).

The film is funded by Channel 4 and also features John Thomson, Ricky Gervais, Alan Davies and Gary Kemp.
Mel, who had a Top Ten hit in August singing on the Artful Dodger track 'Twentyfourseven', is the girlfriend of CJ, one of the main characters in the film - until he catches her giving her ex-boyfriend a hand job!

Looking somewhat different from her days in All Saints with very dark hair and with a much thinner figure, Mel puts in a fine comic turn as the rather common girlfriend.

It's Blatt's second role in a feature film after last year's ill-received 'Honest', in which she starred with fellow former All Saints Nicole and Natalie Appleton.

However, 'Dog Eat Dog' looks set to get considerably better reviews than her feature debut, featuring, as it does, some top acting turns and a genuinely likeable story, about four friends based in London, trying to make it as DJs, and getting caught up in all kinds of problems along the way due to lack of work and money.

The script was written by former Kiss FM DJ and now actor Mark Tonderai, who also stars in the film, and writer and director Moody Shoaibi.

'Dog Eat Dog' gets a nationwide release on December 7.
