Amy Winehouse is set to play a ShockWaves NME Awards show at London’s Astoria on February 19.

The singer is among the latest set of acts to be confirmed for the build up to this year's ceremony.

Also confirmed are Babyshambles who play London Brixton Academy on February 18 and The Shins, who play the Astoria on February 25.

Speaking to NME.COM Amy Winehouse admitted she was looking forward to being part of the month of music in London that accompanies this year's awards.

"I can’t wait to play the show," she declared. "My manager just told me. I asked him who would be headlining and he said I would. I couldn’t believe it."

The Gossip meanwhile have moved their date from Koko and will now also play the Astoria on February 24.

Tickets for the new shows go on sale tomorrow morning at 9am, after which time go to NMEtickets.com.

Support bands for some of the previously announced shows have also been confirmed.
