Amy Winehouse to go 'back to work' for V Festival?

Singer promises to 'change' after overdose

Amy Winehouse has vowed to go back to work this week after needing to go to hospital for a drugs overdose last Tuesday (August 7).

The singer, who had her stomach pumped, has been recovering in a Hampshire hotel, where according to reports, her family have been speaking to her in an effort to get her to cut back.

Speaking to the News Of The World, Winehouse declared that she did not want a repeat of last week, which reportedly followed a three-day bender.

"I never want to feel that way again,” she said. “It was just crazy - one of the most terrifying moments of my life.”

Although apparently rejecting suggestions she go into rehab – echoing the sentiment of her 2006 hit single ’Rehab’Winehouse said she would change her behaviour.

"I've scared myself this time. I was all over the place. I know things have got to change,” she said. “I have to sort myself out."

However the singer, who missed two European festivals because of the incident, gave fans a positive sign that she should be fit enough to play next weekend’s (August 18-19) V Festival, declaring: "I'm fine. I'll be back at work on Monday."
