Ex-Velvet Underground frontman and legendary solo artist Lou Reed has admitted he’s a fan of Amy Winehouse.
The veteran rocker has also expressed his hope that the singer is coping with her apparent problems.
Asked what new music he’s currently listening to, Reed replied: “I like Amy Winehouse – I hope everything's ok with her, but what a great song.”
The singer also praised Okkervil River and The Killers, describing the latter as a “genuinely great” band, he told Pitchfork.
As previously reported Reed has recently collaborated with The Killers on a track, ‘Tranquilize’, for their forthcoming rarities compilation.
