Amy Winehouse fans have lashed out against the singer following a shambolic performance from her at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on Saturday night (November 24).
Winehouse arrived on stage 45 minutes late, at 22:15, by which time some fans were already demanding refunds for their £30 tickets. Many sections of the crowd were booing before Winehouse took the stage.
Midway through the performance Winehouse seemed bored and walked offstage, leaving a backing singer to step forward and take vocal duties. She looked unstable throughout the set and at one point her beehive hair extension nearly fell off.
While performing ‘Valerie’ as part of the show’s encore, Winehouse left the stage again, halfway through the song, this time for good, once more leaving a backing singer to fill in until the show ended.
Since the show, NME.COM readers have e-mailed in to vent their anger at the performance, explaining that Winehouse looked highly intoxicated throughout the set.
Other fans, writing on Winehouse’s official website forum, explained that they left the show early because of the performance.
Amy Winehouse’s tour continues tonight (November 26) at the Brighton Centre.
