Amy Winehouse's court appearance cancelled
The singer's Norwegian appeal is postponed
Amy Winehouse’s appeal against her fine for cannabis possession in Norway has been cancelled, and no new date has yet been announced.
The singer was due to appear alongside her husband Blake Fielder-Civil and an unnamed person to appeal against the fine, issued in October 2007, on Friday (February 29).
However, the couple’s lawyer, Ole Kvelstad, has had the appeal postponed, arguing that the Norwegian police had failed to make suitable arrangements for the imprisoned Fielder-Civil to attend the hearing.
Speaking to the BBC News website, Kvelstad said that the couple are still keen to appeal against the fine, which has made it more difficult for Winehouse to gain a US visa.
Fielder-Civil is due in court on Friday in London, charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and GBH.
