Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has admitted committing assault and perverting the course of justice in London today (June 9).

Fielder-Civil made the admissions at Snaresbrook Crown Court. He admitted to assaulting 36 year-old James King in The Macbeth pub in east London in June 2006, reports BBC News.

The husband of troubled singer Winehouse also admitted to perverting the course of justice following the assault. He was accused of offering King money to withdraw the assault allegation and flee the UK.

King himself pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice.

Two associates of Fielder-Civil, Anthony Kelly and James Kennedy, also pleaded guilty to perverting the cause of justice.

News of the pleas, which were made last week (beginning June 2), surfaced after judge David Radford lifted a ban on reporting of the case.
