Amy Winehouse threatens James Bond battle with Jack White

Singer to take on 'clean cut' official theme in the charts

Amy Winehouse has said that her song for the new James Bond film was rejected because film representatives wanted something "clean-cut and boring".

As previously reported on NME.COM, Jack White and Alicia Keys have now recorded the official theme song for 'Quantum Of Solace'.

They were chosen after Winehouse and her producer Mark Ronson failed to record a satisfactory final version of their own theme.

Speaking to New Magazine, Winehouse said that she wanted to "prove that they (film representatives) have made a big mistake" in offering the song to White and Keys.

"I do think they could have waited a bit," she said. "If they want a worldwide hit, I have them all up here [pointing to her head]."

She also resolved to complete her rejected version of the theme - and possibly release it in the same week as the official one.

She said: "I guess they are going for clean-cut and boring. When I do release mine - and I am tempted to do it on the same day - this would be the bigger hit. If they change their minds, I'm waiting!"

'Quantum Of Solace' is set to be released in the UK on 31 October. The official theme, White and Keys' 'Another Way To Die', is the first duet in Bond history.
