Amy Winehouse was planning to record and release an album with a "jazz supergroup", according to her producer Salaam Remi.

The singer, who passed away earlier this year, was apparently planning to put together a jazz album with a "supergroup", which she hoped would include The Roots' ?uestlove and saxophone player Soweto Kinch.

Remi also told the Associated Press that Winehouse had written all the songs that she wanted to appear on her third album and had even picked out song titles.

The producer also added that at the time of the singer's death, the release of her third album would still have been a long way off, saying: "She was taking her time with it [her third album], and at the end of the day all of her songs are somewhat autobiographical, so she had to live through something, then get out of it and then look back at it to be able to write about it".

Ultimately, Winehouse only recorded two songs for her third album, both of which will appear on the singer's posthumous album 'Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures', which has been given a release date of December 5.

The album itself features 12 tracks, including two other covers and a number of previously unreleased tracks. You can read an in depth preview of the album, which has been written by NME's Dan Martin, by visiting NME.COM/blogs.

£1 from each copy of 'Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures' that is sold will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the charity set up in the singer's honour.
