Nas has opened up about his track featuring the late Amy Winehouse – which you can hear below.

The track 'Cherry Wine' premiered on Radio 1 last night and is set to appear on the rapper's forthcoming tenth album 'Life Is Good', which will be released on July 17.

Nas and Winehouse got together for recording sessions in 2008. One of the songs, 'Like Smoke' appeared on the singer's posthumous Number One album, 'Lioness: Hidden Treasures'. Both tracks were produced by Salaam Remi, who worked on 'Frank' and 'Back To Black'.

Speaking to NME, Nas said the track 'Cherry Wine' came from "God, and Amy". Asked if Salaam Remi had the track from their recording sessions, he said:

Yeah, Salaam worked on her last album, and they were working. We don’t even have an explanation for how it happened. It was just magic. It just happened. It was supposed to happen. She made it happen.

Nas has previously said that he wasn't sold on the idea of recording the posthumous duet with Winehouse. Speaking about 'Like Smoke' he said, "Part of me didn't want to do the song… Amy and I share a birthday, so she was my sister. And she was just so much fun to be around. She would say things about well-known people in the industry that she didn't like and it would just crack me up… We were all hoping she would pull through and come back."

'Life Is Good' also features collaborations with Drake, Rick Ross, Mary J Blige, Swizz Beatz and Heavy D.
