The friends and family of Amy Winehouse said their final farewells to the late star yesterday (September 16) as they buried her ashes during a ceremony in north London.

The Sun reports that approximately 70 mourners attended the ceremony in Edgware to pay their respects to the 'Back To Black' star and watched Winehouse's father, Mitch, pay tribute to his daughter's "short but dynamic" life.

Her ashes were buried in a black headstone with pink writing which was also inscribed with a songbird and carried a tribute to her grandmother, Cynthia Levy, and were interred next to the memorial in a plot which will be marked with a rose.

Last week (September 14), it was reported that the charity set up in Winehouse's name has raised over £230,000 since her death. The Amy Winehouse Foundation was set up by Mitch to provide support for "young people, especially those who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, financial disadvantage or addiction".

The singer died on July 23 last year. She was found dead at her north London home at the age of 27. Coroners later confirmed that Winehouse, who had battled drink and drug addiction for several years, had died of alcohol poisoning.

She would have celebrated her 29th birthday last week (September 14), and a full programme of events is currently being planned for 2013 to mark what would have been the late singer's 30th birthday.
