A statue of the late singer Amy Winehouse is to be erected in Camden, London.

The statue will be unveiled at an all-star tribute concert at The Roundhouse venue, explained Winehouse's father, Mitch.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, Mitch Winehouse said that the concert will take place on September 14, 2014, which would have been the star's 31st birthday. He said:

September 14, 2014 at the Roundhouse in Camden Town, we'll be unveiling Amy's statue...[It] will be accompanied by a concert. So far, the support from stars has been incredible.

He added that the show will be a huge production: "We want to make it like a Live Aid type concert where we get maybe four, five, six hours' worth. People doing a couple of songs each. Obviously that involves a lot of people."

Mitch went on the quash rumours that a film or musical about his daughter's life was currently being made.

Tonight (September 20), the Amy Winehouse Foundation Ball is being hosted by Mark Ronson in London. Jamie Cullum and Matt Goss will both perform at the event.

Amy Winehouse was found dead last summer at her home in north London. She was 27.
