‘Anchorman’ director wants to adapt comic book ‘The Boys’

Adam McKay in talks to direct cult comic movie

Comedy director Adam McKay is talking to Sony about adapting Garth Ennis’ comic book The Boys for the big screen.

McKay is best known for directing Will Ferrell in Anchorman, Talladega Nights and most recently The Other Guys, which is released this August.

The Boys, like Preacher – the other Ennis comic book recently in talks for big screen adaptation – is an extremely graphic and violent tale, which follows government agents who police superheroes and feature a character based on Simon Pegg‘s appearance, although there is no word yet whether he will be approached for the project.
