And speaking out against 'pretentious' bands...

JASON REECE of TEXAN alternative noise rockers AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF THE DEAD is writing a screenplay about THE WHO drummer KEITH MOON.

Reece told that his motivation was personal, as he’d like to see a film about Moon "the drummer and the practical joker. To make a rock biopic that people would just have fun watching."

Speaking before a gig at New York’s Bowery Ballroom to promote the band’s third album, ‘Source Tags and Codes’, Reece railed against the "pretentious" side of bands such as Tortoise, saying that bands should be both serious and fun.

Reece drew parallels between the Trail Of Dead and The Who, in that both bands balance the serious side of making music with having fun. "I mean, we definitely take what we do seriously, but you should see us when we're really drunk!" It remains unclear when – or if – Reece’s pet project will see the light of day.
