Andrew WK's set at London festival Visions ended in chaos yesterday (August 2) as organisers pulled the plug on his performance following a stage invasion by fans.

The US artist played at the multi-venue event in Hackney, east London on a bill that also included Eagulls, Perfect Pussy, Polica and Veronica Falls. During his 8:30pm slot at The Laundry the singer was joined on stage by fans from the audience as he played songs from his back catalogue including 'Party Hard' and 'We Want Fun.'

The stage invasions began during 'Party Hard' and continued as the US artist began a countdown from 100 to the final song. As the countdown reached its conclusion fans tore down a video screen projecting images during the performance as more and more people rushed the stage. Eventually, W.K's microphone and piano were unplugged and the set came to an abrupt end.

Earlier in the day on the same stage, Joanna Gruesome stepped in to cover for Fat White Family, who were forced to cancel their appearances at both Visions and the Standon Calling due to an illness in the band. Referencing their status on the bill as well as Fat White Family's live reputation, guitarist Owen Williams apologised for "not getting our dicks" out.

The final set of the day came from Perfume Genius, with the US musician performing songs from new album 'Too Bright' as well as older material. Joined by Los Campesinos' Tom Bromley on guitar, Mike Hadreas also performed with Alan Wyffels and a drummer. The fleshed out band played new songs including 'Queen' and the gloomy, synth heavy 'My Body'.

Elsewhere in the hour long set, Perfume Genius played material from his first two albums, including fan favourites 'Take Me Home' and 'Look Out, Look Out' plus set closer 'Mr Peterson'
