Andy Burrows announces first solo gig with new band

Former Razorlight drummer set to preview new album at London show

Andy Burrows is set to play two gigs in a day on Sunday (June 8) at the RockNess festival in Inverness, Scotland. The drummer is headlining with Razorlight, but has added a last-minute solo acoustic performance to the bill as part of a Carling Strike Cold Session which finds Burrows playing upon a refrigerated lorry. On Razorlight’s live return the drummer said: "It will be brilliant to get out and play. We've been in the studio for a while so it will be good to play live." Pic: Dean Chalkley
Andy Burrows has announced his first solo gig with his new backing band.

The former Razorlight drummer has been rehearsing with his new group after recording his second solo record – his first since leaving Johnny Borrell's band – late last year.

Burrows will play The Luminaire in London on March 3.

"In the last few weeks I have been rehearsing with my band, working out how to play the album live," explained Burrows. "So far it's coming together well."
