Rapper Angel Haze has revealed that she’d "love" to collaborate with The Smiths.

Speaking to The Quietus, Haze – who released her ‘Classick’ mixtape last month – said that she fancied working with the sadly now-defunct Mancunian legends in the future.

Asked about her dream collaborations, she replied: “I like The Smiths – I would love to do a song with The Smiths, because they are so sonically different. And they just go into that little rampage where they’re just super fucking loud and noisy and I think it would be really cool. I don’t know, I’ll guess I’ll save that for some kaleidoscope theory I have.”

When pressed for her preference between frontman Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr, meanwhile, she said:

I want both of them!

Haze released her ‘Reservation’ EP in July of this year. You can hear her track ‘Cleaning Out My Closet’, inspired by fellow Detroit-based rapper Eminem’s track of the same title, by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

Last month, hopes of a Smiths reunion were quashed by representatives for both Marr and Morrissey after celebrity gossip site Holy Moly had created on online buzz by posting an article claiming "several credible sources" had confirmed that The Smiths would reform for four 2013 shows, including Glastonbury Festival.

Johnny Marr is set to release his debut solo album next year. The LP, which is titled ‘The Messenger’, will be released on February 25, 2013. Speaking about the record to NME, Marr said: "It is late in the day to be making my debut," Marr said. "I didn't want to be in someone else's band at this point. In the past I might have been reluctant to stand up front, and I've been lucky enough to be in bands with great singers, so it wasn't necessary. But this is my band now, and the frontman in my band has to play guitar. I do both."

He also had his say on rumours of a Smiths’ reunion, stating: "Everybody seems to know more about a Smiths reunion than I do. Those rumours are like a sport for everyone involved bar the people who were in the group 30 years ago. But it's not happening."
