Animal Collective, Bat For Lashes and Tim Burgess are among the first wave of artists to be announced for next year’s Field Day festival in Victoria Park, London.

Set to take place on May 25, 2013, the one-day event will be co-headlined by Animal Collective and Bat For Lashes and also see sets from Chvrches, Daughter, Disclosure, Django Django, Everything Everything, Four Tet, Francois & The Atlas Mountains, Fucked Up, Pangaea, James Yorkston, Julio Bashmore, Mulatu Astatke, Thomas Mapfumo, Tim Burgess, Virals and Vondelpark.

More artists will be announced in the coming months.

Tom Baker, promoter at Eat Your Own Ears, the company behind Field Day, has said:

It's always a challenge trying to better the last Field Day line up. But I think next year's is as thrilling, inspiring and diverse as anything we've ever done.

He added: "I am personally honoured that Field Day will play host to the brilliant main stage double bill of ground breaking artists Animal Collective and Bat For Lashes."

"And alongside these, Zimbabwe's Thomas Mapfumo, seminal drummer Ginger Baker and Ethiopiques' legend Mulatu Astatke are true dream bookings for Field Day."

Early bird tickets are on sale now for £45.
