ANT & DEC UP FOR THE CUP!

Well, they do have a proven track record - anyone remember 'Our Radio Rocks'?...

ANT & DEC UP FOR THE CUP!

? tTating television presenters ANT & DEC "very much want to" record England's official song for this summer's World Cup, NME.COM can reveal.

The pair have been mooted as candidates for the single for some time and this afternoon a spokesperson for the duo said they would enter talks about doing the track within days.

"A decision will be reached by this time next week," he added.

Ant & Dec, who previously had chart success in the 90s as the duo PJ & Duncan with tracks like ’Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble’, have been on holiday since completing filming of the record breaking 'Pop Idol' a fortnight ago, delaying any talks about their World Cup involvement. Their spokesperson also said that if they didn't do the official tune, they wouldn't be doing any at all.

However, the Football Association are remaining mute about Ant & Dec, or indeed anyone else's, involvement with the song. A spokesperson would say only that no decision had been made and the FA was looking at a number of possibilities.
